KUWASHA in Swahili means “to spark,” and that’s exactly what they’re doing.

In a region of Africa, widely known as the birthplace of AIDS, where generations have been wiped out, a new story is being written.
Through education, healthcare, and community development, KUWASHA is igniting transformational change across Uganda.

Supporting 5 schools and over 1,500 students each year, from daycare to university, KUWASHA walks with children from age 4 or 5 until they become employable adults. Whether through a university degree to become a doctor or teacher, or vocational training like carpentry or auto repair, the goal is the same: break the cycle of poverty through education.
From orphans and widows to entire communities, hope is rising.
THIS IS OUR MOMENT TO BE THE SPARK.
Through the NXT Initiative, we can help rewrite the story of a region once defined by loss, and raise up a generation defined by purpose.

Your NXT pledge says, “I believe in this vision.”
Fulfilling your pledge says, “Let’s keep going.”
