Across Southern California, City to City is bringing the hope of the gospel into communities that are often difficult to reach. Their church planters intentionally go beyond the traditional walls of the church and into neighborhoods where people are facing homelessness, addiction, gang involvement, and other significant challenges. Rather than waiting for people to come to church, these pastors and ministry leaders go to where people are—building relationships, serving their communities, and creating opportunities for people to encounter Jesus.
Churches have been launched in movie theaters, warehouses, homes, restaurants, and other unexpected places. To date, 85 churches have been planted throughout Southern California, with another 30 church planters in the pipeline. Through creative and relational approaches, City to City is especially reaching young people and working to bring hope and restoration to communities that are often overlooked.
Through NXT, Bayside has been able to help provide the practical resources that make this ministry possible: from pop-up tents and sound systems to children's ministry equipment and keyboards for worship. These may seem like simple tools, but they create spaces where people can gather, families can feel welcomed, and new churches can begin to grow.
